The term senior dog can be misleading.  Most vets apply the term to any dog over the age of eight.  But eight certainly isn't elderly. At that age, a dog is still energetic and has years of love left to offer.

These days dogs are definitely living longer.   Good food, warm dry living conditions and regular vet checkups are adding years to lives.
