Can I adopt a pet through this site?

No.  All adoptions are done through the rescue sites.  Contact links are posted with all of the animals pictured

How do I submit a lost or found pet notice?

Email the webmaster at lostandfound@nshomelesspets.com.  Please send as many pictures as you wish, in jpeg, not bitmap please.  For safety's sake we ask you not to send pictures of your children with the pets because your listing, with contact information, is out there for the whole world to see.

Why is the SPCA listed separately?  Doesn't it do rescue?

Rescue is only one of the mandates for SPCANS.  They are also responsible for cruelty investigations, public education and working with the NS Dept of Agriculture.

How do I obtain a listing on this site for my rescue?

This site is devoted to the promotion of pet adoption in NS.  For the protection of  both potential adopters and the reputation of existing animal rescue groups in NS, references are required for all new listings.

Please contact the Webmaster if you feel your rescue has been overlooked.   This is a private project and all listings are subject to the webmasters discretion.

I don't agree with some or all of the Information section.

And that is your right in this democratic society we live in.

Why do you even care about homeless animals when there are so many other issues out there?

Think of it as working at the root of the problem.

I care about the animals but can't have a pet?  What can I do?

  • Volunteer with your local rescue or shelter
  • Support their fundraisers
  • Sponsor a spay/neuter for a homeless pet
  • Write your government representatives on every level to let them know how important animal welfare is to you as a voter
  • And of course, last but not least, donate money.   When miracles are so often worked on a shoestring, every bit helps.

BE KIND TO YOUR OWN PETS ...  PLEASE SPAY AND NEUTER
