TLC Animal Shelter is living proof that the No Kill approach to sheltering can work here in Nova Scotia.  ( Please note that there other private no kill shelters in Nova Scotia.   SHAID, the L A Shelter and Bide A While; and private no kill rescues:  ARC, SHAR, SCARS and NS Reptiles.   It is believed by the webmaster that the Breed Rescues in this province are also No Kill. )

They have a very interesting and informative web page with their own TLC Animal Shelter Newsletter.

If you are a parent looking for good ways to encourage humane ethics in your children, their website also has a Just for Kids page.

The shelter is located just outside of Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada  in a rural setting on one acre of land. In addition to the main building which houses kennels for dogs and cats there is a large fenced in area where dogs may exercise freely and socialize with each other. There are also several outdoor pens and houses located in shaded areas where the dogs can enjoy the outdoors.
