Information

"It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door," he used to say. "You step into the Road, and if you don't keep your feet, there is no telling where you might be swept off to."  - from the Fellowship of the Ring, by JRR Tolkien

There is no shortage of information available at one's fingertips on the web.  Some good.  Some less than good.  How to pick and choose?

The links suggested in this section are by no means an exhaustive listing of what is available out there.  How were they chosen?

By going to reputable sources with proven track records.  Although there is good information available from various vendors, as a commercial free site those links are not included.

It should get you started in the right direction. If you are charting new territory for yourself here, there will be quite a bit of food for thought.

Animal welfare is like anything else in the world. There are people and groups who hold on to "the way it has always been done" and may never be comfortable outside of that zone. Then there are others whose compassion has compelled them to find more humane paths.

The wonderful thing about information is that it allows us to make informed decisions. Will it always make us comfortable? Not if it makes us think.

So ... whether you are interested in information to help you:

there just might be something that you will find useful.

And ... if you have enough heart to open your mind when you open your home and your heart to a new pet:

ADOPTING ONE HOMELESS PET WILL NOT CHANGE THE WHOLE WORLD ... BUT IT WILL CHANGE THE WHOLE WORLD FOR THAT ONE HOMELESS PET
