Humane Issues
It is impossible to discuss humane issues without at least brushing on the
fringes of dog politics. Not everyone looking to adopt a pet is going to be
concerned about these things. Yet everyone who does have a pet is affected by
laws passed by politicians.
For instance, Bill 132 devastated the lives of thousands of dog owners in
Ontario. If pet owners don't pay attention, they can wake up one morning and
discover that their pet has to be muzzled/ fenced/ provided with expensive
insurance ... or even worse that their pet can be seized and destroyed simply
because an Animal Control officer feels the pet looks like the wrong breed.
If you are wondering what all the fuss is about, have a look around and see
