Social Networking Tools

Social networking will affect every aspect of the animal welfare field in ways we have only begun to think about      Nathan Winograd

If you live in Nova Scotia .. there are now two great resources if you either lose your own pet or find somebody else's:

What a great idea!  These groups are very proactive and have helped reunite many owners and pets!

How does it work?   Every time that a pet is listed ... or an update is posted ... everyone in the network sees in their News Feeds.   They share ... their friends share .. and the word gets around!

There are even printable posters available for pet owners and their friends to plaster everywhere

Both groups are run by volunteers who realized the potential after seeing the success rates for individuals who set up facebook groups to help find their pets.

Click here to find out why people who find pets often do not take them to their local shelter or animal control.   That is why social networking is such a success!

The groups in Nova Scotia have inspired volunteers elsewhere to set up groups of their own!

If you are in the Canadian Army, Navy or Air Force ... and have to deploy, contact the Canadian Military Pets Foster Network if you need help finding a foster for your best friend.
