The More the Merrier

The More the Merrier.  Tips for Multi Cat Homes:
  • Know your limits.  There are so many good cats in need out there.  Make sure you can afford good food and vet care for everyone.
  • Kitties need love too.  Things will stay on a more even keel if you have time for some one on one with each and every cat in the house every day.
  • For domestic harmony, all the cats should be spayed and neutered
  • Have more than one litter box.  Note:  the Webmaster uses pine shavings because its odor absorbing and most importantly all the kitties will use it.  In this neck of the woods a bale of it only costs $4 at the feed store and lasts at least two or three weeks.
  • Cat towers and window perches give everyone more space
  • Rather than one big dish, have small dishes for everyone.   Even if they all eat the same food, feed them in at least a couple of separate areas.  Wash dishes daily
  • Before introducing a new cat, make sure that he/she has been tested for Feline Leukemia.
  • The money spent on cat toys is never wasted as its "just more fun with your friends"
Helpful Hint:   Adopting a homeless pet from rescue is a very good buy.  Vaccinations/tests/spay/neuter are all done which makes the adoption fee a real bargain.

Every adoption really saves two lives because the rescue then has the resources to save another pet in need.
